Thanks. I rarely get upset by the game but Darius is that one champion I really can’t stand and the players who pick him seem to go into him with entirely wrong mindset. Seeing a Darius mock his own ADC for having less kills than assists is not only counterproductive. It’s evidence that Darius is a champion for those who wants to be jerks and misinterpret their role in a team.

Karthus ultimate deals 250 and that’s magic damage. Sure, it’s global, but hey. The other problem is that Darius ultimate promotes last-hitting an enemy. Personally I think the type of or amount of damage is irrelevant. Most Darius player decides to last-hit either way. They wait for the enemy to be brought down to ~100 health and last-hit the crap out of them. If his team mates are the main source of damage for this occurrence it looks kind of bad if Darius just swoops in for a double kill.

As a Solo Top the impact on him getting fed isn’t as high though. Still, he doesn’t exactly promote team play. Many Darius will frown upon the idea of bursting someone down with his ultimate as an opener and let the carry get the kill. I think that’s a part of his ultimate that needs to be revised as well. As it is now it doesn’t really fit into a team fighting perspective other than as a clean-up move. Reducing it’s cooldown on Assist as well could be an alternative approach.

To be honest, although I don’t think Darius is OP, is ult DOES have some flawed mechanics. If he hits level 6 before you, he can full-combo you for a kill provided he harassed you beforehand, and when you come back he has his ult still up and you might not even have yours get. Solution: Tower hugging. Too little counterplay, IMO.

You might say that it is hard to counterplay AS Darius against ranged, but that is false. If the other player pushes too close to your turret, he can’t harass you buy you can E him into your tower range and give him some free tower shots, with good timing. That means that Darius has very flexible play, while having not-as-flexible counters to that play.

I don’t think Riot should have nerfed the general CD on the ult after already giving it a laning nerf though. They should have kept the ult cooldown to 100/90/80 , since the fact that his ult cooldown will only go off after 12 seconds basically already extends his cooldowns by 12 seconds. This is my 2 cents, though, Riot will do what they have to do :/

Damn it! Why do they have to nerf Darius’s ulti!!!! Every champion has a unique ulti. So why can’t Darius have an ulti which resets if you finish off an enemy? It doesn’t do much damage. Only 150+ true damage at level one. Just because some bunch of noobs complain they get thrashed by Darius players dunking them, JUST DON’T PLAY LOL. go play with dolls instead. Given how many low Darius I’ve encountered I actually despise him now. He deserves every single nerf coming his way.

Sometimes you can spot that jerk in champ select. When we have a good team comp going with a jungler, top lane, ADC and AP mid he goes ahead and locks in Darius. He proceeds to play bot lane and uses the ADC as bait. He then proceeds to roaming after killing bot (or failing to kill bot) leaving the ADC to his or her own demise. Later on he starts taking blue and red in front of his jungler or AP carry proclaiming he’s the one carrying this game. Buffs are wasted on everyone else according to him.

The mere fact that I meet individual players who each deploy this tactic has led me to belief that there’s something wrong with Darius. His skill set encourages players being a piece of egomaniac shit. And that shit needs to get nerfed.

Riot employees are trying to redefine ults as having a long cooldown by definition. It was part of their justification for remaking Karma. Frankly I think it’s incredibly stupid of them because it’s the equivalent of making every character in Street Fighter a Ryu or a Ken. The characters have different movesets because they’re different characters. The only reason to change stuff like that is to placate little kids who can’t read and get confused when one R is different from another. Might as well make all the cooldowns the same too so they’re easier to remember.

Obviously you can’t read…

Darius was never OP. He is a do or die champ and YES he has his counters like kayle, jax to give two examples… Yes has strong laning but that has NOTHING to do with his ult. His Q (Decimate) is doing the heavy damage during early game. His Q is the one doing the most damage. His ULT is just and excute but not the main source of damage. Darius has no escapes so he must stay his ground or die. He is naturally focused and countered quite easily. You’v just got rid of the only thing that he has so that he would not be useless late game. Players have to learn how to play safe and passively and know which champions counter Darius. This is what players lack the most and instead of crippling the champion, tell the QQer’s to get better

Actually, ult use is exactly the same in teamfights, and his late game is still strong. All this affects is his previously broken laning phase.

Darius’ balances him a lot. He won’t be that scary guy that late game will 600 true damage all 5 enemies and pentakill, it will be harder to teamfight with him, because you’ll have to focus the right targets and not a random one, his ulti won’t give you that flexibility.

Darius was only OP during his release stage in my opinion. He is easily countered by champs with strong ranged harass such as Elise or Jayce, but I find if you go someone who can out sustain ANDdamage him in lane, such as Garen, Shen or even Singed, he will be useless late game. The only problem about Darius is that people don’t understand that it isn’t his ult that makes him strong, it’s his passive. The mor stacks he gets on you make him deal muc more damage with his ult and get his slow off more often. The best way to counter a darius is by beig able to burst him down before he manages to kill you. His laning phase is also where he needs to dominate because if he doesn’t, e won’t be much use later on because he won’t have enough damage or be tanky enough. So, this is why Darius is NOT ad never truly was, OP.

Honestly, it was a very necessary nerf. Riot focusses on making the game fun for everyone, its not fun when you have darius rofl stomping through blind pick. Darius will still be a force to be reckoned with, I just feel like there will be WAY fewer pentakills. The problem with darius carrying is, he wasn’t build to carry. I see full AD darius constantly shredding through people and he cannot be countered in blind pick. Anyone who is good, shouldn’t have a problem playing darius.

If you choose some good runes, mysteries, and starting items I find it rare even if I play very offensive that I run oom on Taric before I really need to go back to base.

“Feed Darius enough and he can kill both you and the jungler!” Well, feed an AP Soraka enough and she’ll 1v5 your team… You should judge a champion in it’s neutral state, not when fed…

The rework on Tarics Passive is imo a really bad joke .. if you play Taric Offensive you burn mana .. if you play defensive and get harrased a lot you burn mana .. a lot of mana .. and the only way to stay in lane for a long time is auto hitting .. and here comes the problem .. you don’t want to hit the creeps cause you will push the lane and make it harder for your carry to last hit .. otherwise if you hit a camp they hit you back and thats bad too ..

Another major Problem is now you deal extra dmg on hit .. if you want to lower the CD on you Q you will push even more ..

I hope they don’t realize this :/

Darius will always be Darius. He’ll still be the tanky fighter that deals mixed damage together with a true damage ult. Now you just have to actually think before you ult someone wich makes him not-so-much of a no-brainer. Great change imo and i’ll still be able to play darius as i did before since he still has the same skillset and ratios.

This is somewhat innacurate. In that 12 second window you would need to get a killing blow with every ult to be able to refresh 5 times. The point it to make it the same in teamfights, but go on cd after you get a kill in lane, so if you kill your opponent, they wont come back to lane with you having your ult up again immediately.

HALLELUJAH, DARIUS’ STUPID RESETTING IS GONE! It’s ABOUT FRIGGING TIME… Since he came out I’ve been saying it isn’t fair to constantly have your ult up. The very nature of an ultimate is a strong ability you can use every once in a while… Not a spammable death sentence… Hopefully the Darius R nerf makes it through.
