Update on Yordles

We’re getting at least one more new yordle this year!

[ Question ] Will we be getting any new Yordles this year or VUs of existing Yordles?

IronStylusButton Rioter IronStylus: Howdy.

So as you know, Heimer was sort of our new flagship for yordles, male yordles at least. He was built off of the framework of such characters as Ziggs and Lulu.

Now that he’s out, we’re ideating on several different yordle designs, revisiting a lot of our furry/semi-furry friends which need love. What’s ended up happening is not so much a grand exploration or style guide creation, though some artists have chosen to take on entire swaths of general yordle anatomy/shape/character exploration. Most of what we on ChampUp have been doing is adhering generally to what we’ve set forth in Heimer, what we’ve seen other internal collaborators make, and then let the individual concept artist working on a design execute with their own discretion with heavy feedback from the team. The results have yielded really good concepts for a number of characters. Currently we have two yordles in the concept phase which are candidate for production. These concepts still represent the very beginning of our production pipeline, and any such concepts won’t be contributing to a VU or otherwise for some time. However, my hope is that by the end of the year we’ll see at least one more yordle make it out. My hope is that it’ll be a female yordle 😉

With that said, no promises, no certainties, but that’s what preference is.

My current priority is the building of a concept “front-log” which will supply our production pipeline with approved character concepts in the form of a bucket which characters can be easily plugged into the production pipeline without a problem. All of the above characters in the OP qualify for a VU, some higher priority than others.

Hope that helps! Sorry for a certain amount of ambiguity.

[ Question ] Why do you think Lulu needs her model updated?

IronStylusButton Rioter IronStylus: She’s in generally good shape, but she’s going to start to look like she has problems the further we go with other yordle VU’s. She has more anatomy than most, but right now she’s pretty much all head. Though Heimer’s head is gigantic, I’d attribute that to him being a brainiac.

That said, she’s not nearly anywhere near the top of the priority list.

Bonus! Awesome Yordle Concept Arts

[ Question ] Is there any chance you release a list of champions scheduled for an update?

IronStylus Button Rioter IronStylus: I wish I could share such a list, but most likely not. Our priorities can sometimes change, or something could explode, get re-slotted, etc.

There’s a lot of factors in how we consider candidates for VU’s or even more overhaul. If it’s mainly art, each discipline will go in and grade at what level they feel the current execution is. So in someone like, let’s say, Morgana’s situation, concept, 3D, animation, etc, will give her low marks. That will decide how much in need she is from an artistic standpoint. Now this need could be really high, but cross reference that with how much of the champion we see in the game, is that champion in need of a gameplay overhaul, etc. That will slide up or down the likely hook of us devoting resources to a character and in what order in front of or behind other characters.

Other things to consider are opportunities, or “low hanging fruit” (I hate that term). Which means, is the bang for the buck substantial? Will the proposed changes really enhance how much love this character gets from players? Is this character thematically a home-run and doesn’t need much ideation? Those factors can dictate whether or not we take on something which is merely fidelity, like Karthus, versus something that’s akin to making an entirely new champion, like Sion.

Further variables arise when the team itself is taken into consideration. How much work will this character need? Is it excessively animation or VFX heavy? How many skins does the character have? These factors can be mitigated by bandwidth, resources on the team, team excitement, etc. Right now, I think the team is more interested in tackling Eve than Morgana honestly despite them needing about the same amount of work.

All of these factors fluctuate. As we dig into our roster and analyize them by plugging in these data points, we sorta get this order of priority spat out. However, we don’t just stick with what an excel spreadsheet tells us. We’re going to weigh costs and benefits.

So, while we currently have our “fantasy slotting” of champions on our hit list for the rest of this year and the next, we’re going to go back in and analyze our decisions and see what’s actually possible to make and at what cadence. I’d love to be able to post that up, but I have a feeling my producers wouldn’t really be cool with that. Heh.

I think when we have it more or less locked down, we can start talking about characters we really want to tackle without spelling out specifically what we’re doing in what order. I’m very wary of raising expectations.. I also don’t like ruining surprises when we have some potentially in store

[ Question ] Why don’t you increase the amount of Bans in Ranked?

Riot Moonleaf Button Rioter Riot Moonleaf: There are many different philosophies of banning
– What has the highest win ratio ATM
– What is perceived to be OP
– What is the FotM
– What is difficult to play against
– What popular streamers ban/play well with
– Banning out a player by removing 3 common picks for a role and firstpicking the fourth

Some philosophies even contradict each other, eg banning Akali due to perception would make no sense for someone who looks at her 50% win ratio.

For some of those mentalities a fourth ban could be useful, for others it would be abusable (eg the last one) while others won’t benefit even though they might think they do (eg FotM). For that reason it’s impossible to please everyone.

Also, adding a 4th ban would hurt the players with smaller champion pools (eg Bronze, Silver).

In general I think that the number of bans at the moment is a good middle ground.

[ Follow-up ] Are you refusing to add more bans just because of LCS?

Riot Moonleaf Button Rioter Riot Moonleaf: We want a healthy LCS, but we also want a healthy ranked play in all tiers. These two are not mutually exclusive.

I’m not disagreeing with the 4th ban, there might be a 4th ban for each team in the future. But I’d like that change to happen in order to promote gameplay instead of hampering it.

[ Question ] What’s your opinion on Ichors on Twisted Treeline?

Ichor of Rage Ichor of Illumination

Scarizard Button Rioter Scarizard: My general thinking is that Ichors, while kind of imba atm, are important distinctions from Summoner’s Rift. (opinion: i think by definition, all ‘alternate maps’ items should be treated as a cool lever that can be used to help identify the map they’re on – feel me?)

We could easily ‘nerf’ them by just removing them and replacing them with Elixirs, but it’s a clear thread through my lurking that TT players like their map being ‘SR Kinda’ and not just SR Lite.

I’ll be pretty up-front and say i’m interested in removing the Resource Regen from Blue Ichor altogether. Structure DMG (while probably OP) is at least interesting to me in that it calls for a specific action once you take it – Resource Regen is like ‘I wanna fight…maybe? Maybe i just want to stall forever.’ When the map already has a global chalice aura, it gets difficult for me to justify Ziggs Potion as an item.

tl;dr
-gauging if TT players enjoy the secondary ‘map-only’ effects ichors give or if they just want reg. elixirs
-looking to replace blue ichor’s effect with something more defining/actionable, and hopefully more balanceable than stallfest ZiggsPot
-bonus round: if players feel RagePot is too unsatisfying, Structure DMG could become something else

that’s kind of where my head’s at atm – this is purely ideation phase, so don’t worry – not the end of the world! would like to get Ichor changes relatively soon into an upcoming patch tho, so speak up if y’all got thoughts!

[ Question ] Has the Exterminator skin for Twitch been canceled?

IronStylusButton Rioter IronStylus: Story time. When we were doing the twitch VU, I was actually entering into 3D for the first time. So, part of what I did was to take Grumpy Monkey’s sculpt of Twitch and make a costume. I decided to revisit exterminator twitch and did a high-rez sculpt of him.

We used some of those assets to prime our demo for PAX East. So, currently he has a zbrush model hanging around. Right now I don’t know plans or timelines for the skin, but we think it’s a great idea. It won’t end up being my call, but my hope is that the skin sees the light of day, but I doubt it’ll be any time in the immediate future.

Here’s hoping!

[ Question ] Why am I being endlessly chat restricted?

Keyru Button Rioter Keyru: The reason for chat restrictions is to help players notice the negative behavior they are displaying and work towards reforming in a more positive manner. Most toxicity comes from chat. We don’t expect this to be a quick change but a work in progress. Acknowledging is the first step into reforming. We understand that the game can be frustrating and make people rage, especially ranked. I’ve been there. This should not happen on a consistent basis though.

Looking into your account, it seems that you don’t want to focus on becoming a cooperative team member but rather use your restricted chat to consistently abuse and harass your teammates with derogatory terms. It’s actually not surprising that you are continually getting hit by chat restrictions after your last set ends.

Restrict chat to only specify objectives or give positive reinforcements. If you have nothing good to say, it is better to not say anything at all. Chatting is not obligated and is why we created the smart ping system to help with communication.

https://support.leagueoflegends.com/…803-Smart-Ping

Work towards reducing negative behavior displayed and the chat restrictions will decrease overtime.

[ Question ] Why do Ahri’s tails all come out of different places on her body?

Riot Whist Button Rioter Riot Whist: Back in the day we outsourced rigs, animation, and models for just about everything.

It could be worse. Ahri VU would not have this. (Ahri VU is not anytime soon though)

It bugs us too.

There was a potentially overlooked change in the last patch, Patch 3.06:

Boots_of_SpeedBoots

  • Limited to 1 Boots item at a time

This change may have ruined the dreams of trolls.  No longer can six boots of mobility Master Yi terrorize players everywhere.  This marks the end of an era, and to say goodbye we look back on some of multi-booted that have graced the hallowed pages of TCotW.

Case #5: “Nid”ing a Ban submitted by Geonice from Volume 20

This Nidalee is guilty of basically ever violation possible.  According to Geonice, her inappropriate name was “HomoBut”.  Then there’s the intentional feeding:

nid2

There’s also the verbal abuse:

nid4

She got seven reports out of a possible nine.  This Nidalee was a real beast.

PunishWarning

Case #4: Putting the “Intent” in Intentionally submitted by LuBuFu from Volume 13

This case has been submitted by an observant NA Tribunal judge.  In his words: “So, what makes this case interesting? Well let’s start with [an] average of 5 reports a game… That’s a lot…”  Reports like:

lufubu1

LuBuFu goes on to ask, “So, what could have caused this?”

lufubu2

Multiple mobility boots huh?  That last Pantheon must have been running on all fours.

PunishWarning

Case #3: A Game of Cat and Mouse from Volume 13

The Lux in this game had a bad score and what appears to be a troll “build”.

lux2

And what is the explanation for four pairs of boots, 20 deaths and no CS?

lux1

Well, that makes sense.  Maybe the four pairs of boots were for the cat.

PunishTime Ban

Case #2: The Feeder submitted by Vokuhilla fromVolume 18

Vokuhilla passed this case along because of the direct and obvious feeding.  What kind of feeding?

feeding1

While sprinkling in fun comments like:

feeding2

Not much to discuss here:

PunishTime Ban

Case #1: The Cobbler submitted by AmudielWW from Volume 15

Another submission by AmudielWW, who sent in one last week as well.  In this case, Dr. Mundo has developed a shoe fetish.

mundo1

Intentionally feeding and spending all the money on shoes, he really is the Madman of Zaun.  There isn’t much of an explanation in the chat, other than:

mundo2

Mundo goes where he pleases, but apparently this Mundo needs six boots to get there.

PunishTime Ban

RIP Mundo’s Shose Shop.

Case #5: The Master of Feeding

This player really has figured out how to feed.  His motivations are unclear, but the results can’t be questioned:

yi1

42 deaths, now that’s some serious feeding.  He did ask one question:

yi2

The Tribunal sure loves punishing players like him:

PunishWarning

Case #4: Unhappy Ending

Unlike the case before, this player didn’t give you a lot of notice that something terrible was coming.  Right at the end of the game, this player likes to add:

sej1

That was game two.  Here is game three:

sej2

And here is game four:

sej3

And here is the punishment:

PunishTime Ban

Case #3: Spamalot submitted by HDDragon

HDDragon, for reals this time (sorry Geonice!), passed along this case, saying: “Oh…my…goodness… I have never seen such spamming!!”  Frankly, it’s hard to do this case justice.

spam1

Imagine someone doing that, over and over, for 30 minutes.  The mute feature was made for people like him…  But he did sprinkle in a little:

spam2

The Tribunal got the last laugh here. Tribunal es # 1.

PunishWarning

Case #2: Worst Troll of the Week

You may have read about Restricted Chat mode in a NoL article recently.  The basic idea is to limit the number of times a player can speak in chat as a way to instruct them on being more polite.  This is rehabilitation, as opposed to the banning system previously in place. For example, you take a player who says things like this:

chat1

And instead of giving them a Time Ban, you give them limited chat.  Now there have been cases of this working on the official forums, but in this case…

chat2

Yeah…  This player doesn’t look like he’s reforming any time soon.

PunishTime Ban

Case #1: Permaban of the Week

Our permaban of the week shows just how ineffective bans can be. This is certainly not this player’s first account. On this smurf, he feeds like crazy:

10minutemail1

And his motivation isn’t exactly pure:

10minutemail2

And he’s definitely not afraid of the other players or the Tribunal. He even tries to recruit his fellow smurfs into trolling too.

10minutemail3

You can see the dilemma Riot is in. Permaban these trolls and they just create new accounts and terrorize new players. Restrict their chat and some will just troll anyway. Hopefully with enough data they can figure out which one to give to whom. So remember to report the trolls you see, and if you have some time, judge some players in the Tribunal. The next game they ruin could be yours.

Case #5: Darkly Dreaming Darius submitted by Moobu

Moobu sent along a case of a very demented Darius.  There are five filthy games within, but the fourth game is particularly awful.  The accused is on a smurf and isn’t very happy about having to duo-top with Garen.

cards1

How would he get Garen’s credit card numbers you might ask?

cards2

He works for Riot, that could give him access.  Or does he:

cards3

Works for Riot and is undetectable by the police.  Watch out community, cause he’s still out there:

PunishWarning

Case #4: The Terror of Twisted Treeline submitted by Elephox

Elephox summed up this case nicely: “This guy seemed to be a riot. Not only did he accuse the enemy team of being hackers, he called the enemies “cowards” and “gipsys” and repeatedly offered “10k Euros” for a variety of objects, from Jax to Fiddle to “family tags.” I think there was something mentally wrong with this player. I now understand why most people avoid the Twisted Treeline.”

gypsy1

That’s six minutes into a game when he starts losing lane to Jax.  But it gets personal:

gypsy2

10k euros, that’s some serious money.  But what does he mean?

gypsy3

Instead of that hackers home address, all it seems like he got was:

PunishTime Ban

Case #3: Obvious Troll is Obvious

How obvious?  Here are the scores:

fed1

Blatant feeding.  How ’bout the chat:

fed3

He’s just begging for it:

PunishTime Ban

Case #2: Worst Troll of the Week

Game 1 of this case features seven reports.  Most games, no matter how foul, tend to have one or two reports.  To get seven, you have to really be making people mad.  Perhaps by feeding:

caitlyn1

Check.  And then some verbal abuse:

caitlyn2

Check.  Followed by some sexual taunting:

caitlyn3

Check again.  And Xin gets to the core of the matter.  Caitlyn just doesn’t care, which makes her a crappy teammate when things start going badly.  She’s on her way to a permaban at this rate.

PunishTime Ban

Case #1: Permaban of the Week submitted by Geonice*

Another great submission by Geonice*.  You hear a wide-variety of excuses when people start playing badly.  Mostly players seem to blame other players, like the jungle or the support.  This player suspects his opponents are the cause of his problems:

hacker2

A little paranoia with your flaming.  Now we’re getting somewhere.

hacker3

Some narcissism with your paranoia?  But wait, there’s more:

hacker1

Now we’re there, a narcissistic paranoid racist.  The top 3% of ranked is going to have to go on without him.

Punishpermaban

*Earlier versions of this article mistakenly did not credit Geonice for this submission.

Case #5: Chemical Imbalance submitted by That One Six

The latest submission from That One Six brings us the story of an unhinged Singed.  “This Singed started raging at 3 minutes in because someone went Karthus top, and once the ball started rolling, there was no stop.  He made racist comments, used every swear in the book, and couldn’t find the caps lock key.”

singed1

There some of the fun early raging.  Here is the racism:

singed2

And here is when he really loses the caps-lock key:

singed3

This is one Mad Chemist.

PunishWarning

Case #4: Not So Radiant Dawn submitted by HDDragon

HDDragon sent this along with a short note: “Someone left their caps on!!!!”.  Four exclamation points seemed promising, but how much all-caps shouting can there be?  Well, in this case, three whole games of it.  Like this:

caps1

And here is some in all-chat:

caps2

Three whole games of non-stop shouting.  Needless to say, no one appreciated all the flaming.

PunishWarning

Case #3: “Nid”ing a Ban submitted by Geonice

This Nidalee is guilty of basically ever violation possible.  According to Geonice, her inappropriate name was “HomoBut”.  Then there’s the intentional feeding:

nid2

There’s also the verbal abuse:

nid4

She got seven reports out of a possible nine.  This Nidalee was a real beast.

PunishWarning

Case #2: Worst Troll of the Week

This player defines spamming.  In the second game, he is unhappy with how the game is going and keys in on a phrase:

spam1

Irony, thy name is LoL spammer.  In game 1, this player got ahead early and decided to rub it in:

spam2

The above are just samples, he does this for 20 solid minutes in both games.  But don’t worry, he ends each game with:

spam3

The Tribunal isn’t sorry either.

PunishTime Ban

Case #1: Permaban of the Week submitted by lxlslay3rlxl

This permaban is a nice example of people eventually getting what they deserve.  Permabans are only given after a number of warnings and time bans have been applied.  Even then, Riot reviews each permaban.  While you will often see Warnings and simple Time Bans shown in the column, trolls eventually get the permaban they justly deserve.  Does this behavior seem familiar?

deserved1

The obvious feeding and troll builds.  What about some 1v1 me noob?

deserved2

And some racism and strangely sexual chat?  Or perhaps trolling Soraka top in a ranked game?

deserved3

It adds up, eventually.  Players earn their Permabans through repeatedly behaving badly and refusing to change.  Hope it was worth it.

Case #5: The Boobie Prize submitted by mhykah

This tribunal case was submitted not just because of intentional feeding but because “in Case #2 the reported seems to have found an alternative to surrendering by re-purposing wards”.  Here’s the feeding:

And here is the unusual use for wards:

Case #4: The Enigma

Here is some straightforward feeding, the score speaks for itself:

why2

And here is this player’s retort when he’s threatened with reports:

why3

And he’s right, the Tribunal is relatively powerless over this kind of player.  But you have to wonder, like this reporter said:

why1

It is confusing, but some people just want to watch the world burn.

Case #3: The Serial Flamer

Speaking of burns, this case showcases how not respond to being flamed.  This Ashe has to go solo-bot in a low-level game.  He’s not getting the support he wants from his team and decides he just wants the game to be over:

ashe1

His team responds negatively to his negativity, and the flame war is on from there:

ashe2

He’s then threatened with reports for the language above, to which he responds:

ashe3

Clearly he knows how this process works and what’s coming if he keeps behaving badly.

ashe4

Unfortunately, he has the common misconceptions of players who hear about the Tribunal but don’t use it.  Sweaty nerds or not, the consistent flaming got him a very familiar:

Case #2: Worst Troll of the Week

This player doesn’t even have the excuse of being “provoked”.  He views bad play as “trolling” and he just starts ripping into his teammates:

cho1

His all-caps yelling didn’t seem to improve the situation, so he moved on to:

cho2

Complaining to the other team for sympathy.  That also didn’t seem to help, so then:

cho3

Some very direct (and racist) insults; also not very effective at making his team play better.  So then:

cho4

At the end of the game he gives up.  Riven’s sentiment is probably correct.  No one is perfect, but bad play wasn’t trolling, it was just someone playing badly.  Either way, yelling at them wasn’t going to help anything.  But something tells me this player knows that already and doesn’t care.

Case #1: Permaban of the Week submitted by Joux

Joux sums up this permaban succinctly: “Apparently, everyone is a failed abortion”.  But in addition to that “friendly” sentiment, this player had this to add:

swaggin1

He’s swaggin’, but he’s also insultin’:

swaggin2

And all that swag couldn’t save him from a deserved permaban:

That’s all for this week! We’ll be back next week with another round of Tribunal Cases of the Weak.

Have a case you think should be included? Send your submissions to [email protected]. Be sure to include the case number and region, your summoner name, and explain what makes it interesting.

Welcome to Tribunal Cases of the Weak. Every week you’ll get the best/weirdest/worst Tribunal cases. As always, purple text is the accused, green text is the team-mates, and red is the opponents. The title of each case is a link to the full Tribunal case, but don’t click through unless you’re ready for NSFW language. Unsure of what the Tribunal is or how it works? Read Riot’s FAQ.

Last week’s post generated a lot of comments about the Tribunal being too strict and inconsistent.  Many left comments and sent emails decrying the unfairness of the Tribunal and demanding that it be removed, changed or fixed.  Others responded with a flood of submissions detailing horrible offenses actually worthy of bans.  Below are five submission from readers like you.

Case #5: The Queen of Rage submitted by That One Six

That One Six says, “I can’t even begin to describe the level of rage this guy expressed in his Elise game.  He was hyper racist and openly malicious towards his fellow players.  He deserved a permaban, in my eyes, but this is probably the worst I’ve ever seen in my 2,500 cases judged.”  Here’s a sample of this player’s behavior:

elise1

And:

elise2

And:

elise3

The Tribunal probably didn’t have to think too long on this one:

Case #4: The Misplaced Rager submitted by Mashedi

Mashedi sent along this guide to his submission.  “I got a very funny one for you.  Just take a look at the 2nd game, it starts with:

irelia1

and ends with:

irelia2

Do I need to say anything more? quite obvious.”  The only thing to add is this gem from just before the end of the game:

irelia3

Well, she got what she wanted:

Case #3: The Gatekeeper submitted by Tirain

“This is hilarious because he claims he has anti ban runes per level and flat quints that cost 56k IP each.  He also claims to be the plat gatekeeper and not let “trash” players finish their series in a win.”

Looks like the Ez stopped trying part way through the game, and started feeding the towers:

ez1

And then claimed he was losing on purpose to prevent his team from getting promoted:

ez2

And finished that up by claiming his anti-ban runes would save him:

ez3

You can see where this is going.

Case #2: The Feeder submitted by Vokuhilla

Vokuhilla passed this case along because of the direct and obvious feeding.  What kind of feeding?

feeding1

While sprinkling in fun comments like:

feeding2

Not much to discuss here:

Case #1: Worst Troll of the Weak submitted by KDragon5

“This summoner swore consistently in his games, did not manage to say anything positive, and repeatedly used the N-word in all of the games in this report.  Also, he/she was reported in 36 times in 5 games.  Thats an average of more than 7 reports PER GAME.  I have never seen a case with this many reports, or this many reports per game.”

Here’s a sample report page:

worsttroll1

That’s nine reports in this one game.  To say that another way, this guy was so bad everyone else in the game reported him.  Now that’s some epic trolling.

PunishTime Ban

No Permabans submitted this week, but there doesn’t have to be to get the point across.  The Tribunal is a community enforcement tool, one that is designed to reflect the mores of the players.  It’s also designed to give toxic players a chance to reform.  It’s not perfect, but Riot would say that it’s making the game a better place.  The best way to “fix” the Tribunal is for everyone to use it.  So if you have some free time this week, pop over to the Tribunal and see what your fellow players are doing in games.  Punish a troll because the next game he ruins could be yours.

Case #5: The Sore Loser

This player is smurfing on a low-level account. He feels that the level of play, surprisingly, isn’t very high. He ends every game with the same send off:

game1

Got to love the “bg nobs”; nobs is just a wonderful misspelling of noobs.  He was reported in every game for his poor attitude, and received:

PunishWarning

Case #4: The Sore Winner

This player is also smurfing on a low-level account. Unlike the player in Case #1, this player only taunts his opponents when he wins. Here is how he ends every win:

sore winner

In Game 5, which he loses, he doesn’t say anything. This player was reported for his taunts at the end of his wins, and he got:

PunishWarning

Case #3: The Blatant Feeder

Intentionally feeding is pretty clear cut in the Tribunal. Some players take an ironic twist on it though. Here are his scores:

amumu2

And here is his statement in the only game he talked in:

amumu1

Well those “bitches” reported him, and he got:

Case #2: Worst Troll of the Week

There’s awful stuff in all five games here, so don’t click through unless you’re into that kind of thing. What stands out, though, is the “psychology” that this player is projecting onto his victims. Like this in Game 1:

worst1

Game 2:

worst4

Game 3:

worst3

Game 4:

worst2

After all of this, you have to wonder who really has the daddy issues. There’s plenty of other inappropriate behavior in there, but it looks like he was a first time offender:

PunishWarning

Case #1: Permaban of the Week

The Permaban this week might not be a clear cut case for a lot of people. The player is negative overall, but not harshly so. He does, however, use a term that many players, including streamers, use quite often. Here it is in Game 1:

perma1

And in Game 3:

perma2

Share your opinion in the comments below. The Tribunal can be a vanguard on player behavior and hold higher standards than the streamers exemplify or people experience in real life. This may be a case of that for some readers, where this word doesn’t offend, much like “faggot” and its pervasiveness. In this case, however, it seems to have caused this player’s permaban, if only by a simple majority.

Case #5: The Cobbler submitted by AmudielWW

Another submission by AmudielWW, who sent in one last week as well.  In this case, Dr. Mundo has developed a shoe fetish.

mundo1

Intentionally feeding and spending all the money on shoes, he really is the Madman of Zaun.  There isn’t much of an explanation in the chat, other than:

mundo2

Mundo goes where he pleases, but apparently this Mundo needs six boots to get there.

PunishTime Ban

Case #4: The Recidivist

Another intentional feeder here.  In this case, there are two games in the report and both are bad:

recidivist

And the explanation in this case is one of the worst:

recidivist2

You can understand why Riot is trying to find solutions other than banning people, because players like this just troll on their smurfs while their main is banned.

PunishWarning

 Case #3: The Teacher

This type of troll is typified by his self-righteous attitude.  It’s not his fault he is feeding or playing badly, it’s your fault.  In this case, the player fed in two games to the tune of:

teacher

And in both games he was going to teach them a lesson.  In Game 1, it was for “slandering” him early on.  In Game 2, it was for not surrendering when it was clear the game was over.  In both cases, he tried to show them who’s boss.

PunishWarning

 Case #2: The Rager

Reading the Tribunal, you can sometimes see exactly when players hit their breaking point.  Some hit it and pull back, uttering just a line or two.  Some hit it and lose all control, like this guy:

blitz1

Don’t hold back, tell us how you really feel…

PunishWarning

Case #1: Worst Troll of the Week

This player left decency behind a long time ago it seems.  In all five games he displayed a terrible attitude and attacked his teammates mercilessly, saying things like:

ww1

And like:

ww2

And even:

ww3

And there’s more:

ww4

Five games in this case; probably countless games in total.  This player is deservedly on the way to a permban, but for now:

PERMABAN OF THE WEEK

The permaban this week is a very unusual case.  The ban comes from ARAMs on the Proving Grounds.  It’s a pretty subtle form of trolling, but it becomes clear in context.  Here is the scorecard from one of the games:

karth1

He only participated in two of the team’s 45 kills, and they were just assists.  How is that possible?

karth2

His team went on to win, despite this player just staying in the fountain and ulting whenever it was off cooldown or joining the fights late so that he can get kill steals.  Even in an ARAM, it is possible to get banned.
